Accessible video services for Terveyskylä, Finland’s digital health platform

Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) and Finland’s university hospitals chose Icareus Video Cloud to modernise the video infrastructure of Terveyskylä.fi. The project involved migrating over 260 hours of video and 4,000 media files, ensuring accessible, multilingual healthcare content for patients, professionals, and citizens nationwide.

Terveyskylä.fi is Finland’s national digital health platform, developed collaboratively by the country’s university hospitals. The platform provides patients, professionals, and citizens with information, support, and eHealth services; where video and audio content play a key role. To modernise media management, ensure accessibility, and improve reach, HUS chose Icareus Video Cloud to manage and distribute Terveyskylä’s extensive video library.

Challenge

Terveyskylä’s mission is to provide reliable and inclusive digital healthcare information to everyone in Finland.
The project required a platform that could:
