Think Corner: Video for Science & Research
The University of Helsinki’s Think Corner (Tiedekulma) uses Icareus Video Cloud to publish high-quality live and on-demand video content. The collaboration began with a tailored video interface integrated into Think Corner’s website and has since evolved with Think Corner moving to publishing its videos through the new Icareus Video Cloud portal.
Think Corner is the University of Helsinki’s public arena for science, research, discussion, and collaboration. Located both in the heart of Helsinki and online, it brings researchers, students, decision-makers, and the wider public together through talks, events, discussions, and other accessible science content.
Challenge
With events taking place almost every day, Think Corner needed a professional video platform capable of supporting frequent live broadcasts and a growing library of on-demand content.
The University’s existing solutions did not meet Think Corner’s requirements for video quality, distribution, functionality, and the needs of its own online service.
Think Corner needed to:
- Broadcast high-quality events live online
- Publish recordings and recurring video series in one place

Solution
Together with Unigrafia, the communications and media services company responsible for Think Corner’s technical production, Icareus initially created a tailored video service powered by Icareus Video Cloud.
The service was embedded into Think Corner’s website and designed to follow the visual identity of Think Corner and the University of Helsinki. Through the platform, Think Corner could publish live broadcasts, event recordings, and other video content in one central online service.
To streamline daily production, Think Corner’s Extron AV system was integrated with Icareus Video Cloud, creating an efficient workflow from event production to online publishing.
As Icareus’ video services evolved, Think Corner later moved from the original customised interface to publishing its videos through the Icareus Video Cloud portal. This allows Think Corner to benefit from ongoing updates, improvements, and new features added to the service over time.
Results
Icareus Video Cloud gives Think Corner’s studio team the tools and workflows needed to efficiently turn high-quality events into professional online video experiences.
The platform supports Think Corner’s frequent live broadcasts and recordings while providing a central online destination for its video content. The integration with its AV environment also helps streamline the workflow from live event production to online distribution.
